Primaeval/Primeval is sort of a science fiction tale with dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Essentially it appears that the fabric of space time has been ripped and prehistoric creatures begin appearing in England--Thor should like the megarachnids or giant spiders in the London Underground. In a bathroom there is a portal to an undersea world with prehistoric marine reptiles--more incentive for Thor Dinosaurs (not specified which) make an appearance, as does a gorgonopsid in some English forest. The gorgonopsid then attacks a school, which seems to be a highlight of the first epdisode ;D The CGI is made by the same people who did Chased by Sea Monsters and Prehistoric Park. The series is supposed to shown to compete against Dr Who. Preliminary reviews have alas not been very positive. Some pics: (there are surprisingly few with the dinos in them ) From the scan I can't even tell what that herd of walking creatures and those flying things are. The giant spiders: (where's Jaymz?) Here is apparently a coelurosauravus. amazon.co.uk is scheduling a DVD release on 5 Mar 07, which seems a bit shaky, since it hasn't been shown on the telly yet.

OMG, looks amazing! I am so excited for the release. *Gasp* I haven't even gotten Prehistoric Park yet. But still, Primaeval looks great! We only have to wait a little more than a month for it, perhaps it is getting a release straight to DVD? Long live Spiders!

Primeval will premiere on 10 February 2007 in Britain. There have been several pics, but there are all about the humans, not the dinos

The first episode of Primeval featured the coelurosauravus, a gorgonops, and scutosaurus. The next episode will be about the giant spiders According to the itv site, we can expect to see mosasaurs , hesperornis, a dodo , anthropleura (giant bug ), anurognathus, and more. It is apparent however that most of these prehistoric creatures were just recycled from the Walking with Monsters and WWD series And the dialogue isn't up to snuff--the gorgonopsid was apparently described as a 'dinosaur'

They put up the profiles of the mosasaurus and the hesperornis. Strangely enough, although hesperornis is without doubt a bird, they decided to clad it with scales...

The preview of the third episode has been posted. Essentially it involves mosasaurs eating children & divers. Yum ;D They also posted the profiles for the creatures for the next episode, apparently a dodo and a worm-like parasite that works its way to the brain and makes the host aggressive and bite others

I've read the profiles of all the creatures that appear in Primeval, and I just realised there is not a single dinosaur--not one True, they are all prehistoric creatures, but no dinosaur proper, which struck me as very disappointing. And of the creatures they did portray , none of them are very exciting, except of course the mosasaurus (our fearless admin will add the giant spider to that list ). Otherwise, it's pretty blah--and there are only 2 prehistoric creatures per episode, which means there will be more human interaction than 'dinosaurs' There's even a scene I think of a pteranodon chasing people--as if JP/// hadn't done that idea to death, and then some. Plus they said the pteranodon's wings were 'stretched over a framework of bones'. Of course not!--pteranodon's wings were attached to its elongated fourth finger, not a 'framework' of any sort. (They were thinking of the fingers of bats.) Then there's agnurognathus (they can't even spell anurognathus properly ) -- wasn't it supposed to be an insect eater? Then why did they transform it into some sort of vampire bat or 'piranha fish' chasing people and stripping flesh from carcasses? I almost expected Vincent Price to make a posthumous appearance. I dunno, I just lost my interest in this one, sorry Definitely not getting the DVD.

Thor, I just caught the last few seconds of Primeval on Space Channel. I didn't catch any prehistoric animals though, I just recognized the lead actor from the pics on the Primeval website.

I just saw the third episode (the one that involves the Mosasaurus) not a good show, really, but the animal itself was awesome. I'd surely wet my pants if they did a Mosasaurus as well done as the Toyway WwD line.
