Kaiyodo Bothriolepsis; Kaiyodo Eusthenopteron I lost out on what I really wanted (the Diatryma), alas And a diplocaulus went for 30 USD , which is a bit too much for a Kaiyodo figure.

Schleich Deinosuchus; Schleich Ouranosaurus. At first I wanted to buy the Ouranosaurus since it is being retired and will probably increase in price in the next few years, but looking at it it's not half-bad, so it may instead end up in my permanent collection. The sales clerk (who knew I was a dino person) was nice enough to show me the Schleich catalogue for 2007 for retailers' orders. It's much bigger than the small ones for consumers. What I saw confirmed the retirement of most of the 2006 Schleich line, and its gradual replacement by new sculpts (Parasaurolophus, stegosaurus, and the rex). The trike was changed last year, and the saltasaur introduced also in 2006; the only older sculpts remaining are the quetzalcoatlus, pteranodon, brachiosaurus (this needs an update pronto to compete with Bullyland), brontosaurus (ditto), torosaurus (perfect the way it is ), allosaurus (the "Basic" allosaur is much better), saichania, and the 2005 deinosuchus and 'hunting' rex. Hopefully this means Schleich will be gunning for Papo quality dinos, which is good news for us
