I posted these pics in the previous incarnation of Dinoworld, but I didn't get to transfer them here. They're just a few shots of a dinosaur exhibit that took place a few years ago. {My mom couldn't find the pics I took when I was at the Natural History Museum in Kensington around 10 years ago. They had a diplodocus--I remember that because the guard was glowering at me, probably wondering what an overage oaf was doing snapping pics of a diplodocus skeleton ;D ) Anyway, there weren't as many dinosaurs here as at a real museum, but a mamenchisaurus is nothing to sniff at. (Mamenchisaurs don't travel often, especially since they have a retinue larger than the Queen's or Jennifer Lopez's) Mamenchisaur: Yangchuanosaurus: Psittacosaurus herd: Prosauropod with unpronounceable Chinese name: Crichtonsaurus (yes, named after that Crichton): Alxasaurus, a therizinosaur ancestor: The basal iguanodontid shuangmiaosaurus: An animatronic triceratops on a trailer backing into a parking lot. Now this you don't see everyday ;D :

I was fortunate to attend the exhibit, since after the exhibit closed the venue that hosted the dinosaurs declared bankruptcy. See how little interest Vancouverites have about dinosaurs--in most places a dinosaur exhibit draws in the locals and the tourists, here it just leads to insolvency. Cultural capital my tush *Feels lonely and unwanted*

I was surprised when I saw the crichtonsaurus, it was rather small. I always thought ankylosaurids were larger

It is a shame that the exhibit had closed. On the upside, it's great that you were able to take many photographs from the exhibit, especially of the Mamenchisaurus. I remember the first (and possibly last) time I saw that big guy.
