According to toyosaurus, the best selling dinosaur over the past six months on its site is--the Papo rex The Papo raptor is number 5. Most of the rest are the models from "Favorite" of Japan, of which toyosaurus is the exclusive Canadian distributor, and the Great Dinos therizinosaurus at no. 6 (the one I have just deplumed). Even better, none of the feathered horrors from Safari this year, despite its much ballyhooed and promoted release, made the Top 10. The only disappointing result is the AAA gallimimus at no. 4--it is feathered (blechh) and yellow to boot. That miscreant makes the JPS2 Gallimimus look quite appealing.

Heh-heh, apparently Papo is tired of being bugged by people like me asking what happened to their 2007 line, because on their website they posted a note that "LES NOUVEAUTES 2007 ARRIVENT... ENCORE UN PEU DE PATIENCE" or (I'm guessing) "The new 2007 releases are coming soon...again a little patience" ;D

According to www.classictoysnyc.com/home.php , which also stocks Papo, they have yet to receive their ordering catalogue (Schleich will be up in a few days). Wonder what's going on with Papo --most toy company announce their new releases way before the end of the previous year. Edit: Schleich's new catalogue is indeed already on its website. Not Papo's though

According to Papo's website they will be participating in 2 toy shows in Paris in January and one in Nuremberg in early February. Plus they will almost certainly be at the annual toy fair in New York. Hopefully by that time somebody would have posted the pics of the 2007 dinosaurs online--that is, if they do release dinos this year. I'll probably throw myself into the Fraser river if they cancel their dinosaur line

As mentioned in the MT, Papo is releasing a spinosaurus in June 2007. There's no photo yet, but I think we can all make a reasonable assumption about how he'll look like ;D The best news is that his reference catalogue number is 55011--that of the stegosaurus is 55007, so sometime in the future we can look forward to 55008, 55009, and 55010. *Cancels appointment with funeral plan salesman* ;D Edit: According to linkandpinhobbies he'll be available in May 2007. The news is spreading No pic yet either though.

According to the 'other site', there have been pictures of the Papo Spino released, along with links. But they won't load for me, just sits on "Done". So hopefully someone just posts the pics?

Hooray, Papo has uploaded the individual image of the spino and it isn't nearly as blue or green as the original catalogue scan, thank goodness--it's gray, as I was hoping. It would then resemble the JP/// size comparison chart sketch, except that it's missing the red fringe on the sail.

Hmm, for some inexplicable reason Papo has renamed the pachy--it's now a bebe pachycephalosaure. Does this mean there is an adult pachy planned in the near future? And I think it would be grossly out of scale with the rest of the dinosaurs if they did plan an adult pachycephalosaurus proportionally larger than the baby one. Pachys aren't that big.
