Procon should have commissioned another painting by John Sibbick to improve their Spinosaurus ;D

And the polacanthus was inspired by the polacanthus in DK's recent Dinosaur Atlas, though Procon forgot the shield on the back of the polacanthus. The nothronychus is copied (mercifully with much fewer feathers) from Julius Csotonyi's nothronychus in Dougal Dixon's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs.Hunting down the "inspiration" for dinosaur figures is becoming a cottage industry for yours truly ;D The shunosaurus alas looks--weird.

And the amargasaurus seems to be a poor man's version of the Kinto Desktop amargasaurus, sans the striping. Though the neck spines strike me as odd--oh dear, I think they meant the spines to resemble feathers

Moduni.de (from whom I purchased my previous Proconsaurs) says that the new Procon dinos will be available on their website in April 2008. The Procon Collecta Deluxe Series (the new agustinia, baryonyx, etc.) will be very expensive though-- 20 euros

I have several of these pre-ordered through Triceratops Hills Ranch... def love the Baryonyx..though I might give it a re-paint to match Sibbick's art... Has anyone seen the Giant Display model version of the Rex ? Both Dinosaur Farm and L&P have it listed..but they are using the pic of the deluxe Rex as it's supposed to be the same sculpt just 30-33" long....I love the JP look and pose so I really need to get one if it looks exactly the same. There is one dark and small pic on Procon's site and you can see the general shape but not enough to be certain it's really the same. :/

Oh my. Here's a pic I saw on the jptoys site of the Procon t-rex, from a different angle from the catalogue pic which looked so impressive. When I saw it my heart sank Papo still rules. Note that the figure is standing on its hands

That's big display Rex... I just got mine in Thursday from DinoFarm... I'd planned to post pics in a few minutes but you beat me to it...lol
Mine did have problems standing up....and yes he does lean forward on his arms which are too large anyway..
Notice they used the Papo Rex coloring....the catalog pic is diff..it's of the deluxe version so I was told by Dino Farm... he's supposed to send me pics next with comparisons so I'll post those...and mine in a minute.
